The Lake Michigan shoreline between Holland and Douglas is a very special place. The huge sand dunes, said to be the largest assemblage of freshwater dunes in the world, contain forests, wetlands, grasslands, flora and fauna that can never be replaced.
Much of this area is protected as part of Oval Beach in Saugatuck and the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Much of it is also threatened by development.
The Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance is working to protect and preserve this unique and beautiful ecosystem. The effort takes money.
These images are of this precious area. For each of these prints sold, 50% of the purchase price will be donated to the SDCA to help fund the effort.
